Welcome

Perched on the hills above the village of Crathie, midway between the larger villages of Braemar and Ballater, Knock Gallery shows the work of modern Central European and Scottish artists. It always has a lively, colourful and diverse collection of handsomely framed oil paintings, acrylics, etchings and engravings, available at a wide variety of prices.

In addition, the gallery always shows an extensive collection of the work of the best Polish and Lithuanian silversmiths working with Baltic amber to produce unique pieces of jewellery. Other stones such as turquoise and lapis, which were traditionally traded along the great amber routes to the east, are occasionally used in conjunction with amber.

Visitors to the gallery can take in the spectacular, sweeping views of Lochnagar mountain and the Dee valley, looking across to Balmoral Castle from the gallery gardens.

Open every day from 9.30 until 5.30.
